WBTB

WBTB:

WBTB is a low-power FM radio station broadcasting at 107.9 MHz, WBTB broadcasts in Erie, PA, and plays gospel/talk format. WBTB was founded in 2003 by the late Rev Dr. John Wooton who was an ordained non-denominational evangelical minister with a Doctorate degree from The Union Christian College in New York City.

WBTB focuses on the community and Wooton’s voice used to be heard at least three times a day, five days a week. WBTB is currently owned by Wooton’s son Richard Wooten who had previously been an ordained Baptist minister himself for more than 25 years before taking over his father’s radio station in 2009.

On January 26th, 2017, Wootton filed for bankruptcy after falling behind on payments owed to creditors including Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service Inc., Erie Insurance Group, and Monroe One Stop Food Mart LLC which were among others totaling $16000.

As part of the filing procedure, any person or organization with a claim against this company has 30 days from that date to file such claims with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Erie County, Wooton seeks to reorganize his debt and continue with WBTB.

WBTB broadcasts Gospel programming, Wooton described WBTB as “a ministry” and told the Erie Times-News that he took over daily operations of WBTB in 2009 after his father’s death.

Wooten is looking to sell WBTB because it has become too much for him to handle by himself so if you are interested please contact Richard Wootton at (440) 367-2000 or [email protected] WBTB broadcasts Wooton’s voice every weekday morning on “The Wooten Way”.
