Hot FM is a radio air Malay owned Synchrosound Studio Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Media Prima. Broadcasts transmitted from Bandar Utama. Hot FM online began test transmission operation on Jan. 15 in 2006 and officially commenced operations on February 5, 2006. Hot FM my frequency Wai FM acquire property Datin Seri Tiara Jacquelina after Wai FM covers the operation and was bought by Media Prima.
It broadcasts 24 hours a day. Led by a former presenter with Era FM, Sathiaseelan a/l Paul Thurai (Seelan Paul) Director of Network, it broadcast mixed of songs in Malay, Indonesian and English songs, but the main language is in Malay. In 2009, it went down in history as for the first time it was charted at the top among other radio stations in Malaysia with 3.8 million weekly listeners, ahead of its traditional rival Era FM which only reached 3.76 million listeners in a week.
Hot FM Kelate is specific for listeners in Kelantan. it T’Ganu is specific for listeners in Terengganu. There was Malay, English and some from Indonesia songs were aired. Different is the way the announcer presented the show. In Radio Kelate, the announcer used the Kelantan dialect while it T’ganu used the Terengganu dialect. The segments are also a bit different.
